#NationalAnna: Winter Camping in Beautiful Canyonlands

The first camping trip of 2018 took place in my beloved Canyonlands.

This trip was monumental for one main reason: introducing my long-time friend Taylor to mine and Peter’s other friends Amy and John. Who doesn’t love some winter camping-friend bonding time?

We hit up our usual trails: Mesa Arch, Upheaval Dome, and of course the White Rim Overlook, among a few other short ones.

It’s kind of incredible how we follow a very specific pattern at Island in the Sky. We’ve got the Canyonlands day trip down to a science. Yes, there are still trails we want to explore. But sometimes a routine is really nice.

As per usual, we hardly ran into any people the entire time. I don’t get why Canyonlands is visited so infrequently, but I’m certainly not complaining.
