Color palettes were all the rage a few years ago and I’ve loved them this whole time. Throw in that these particular ones are national parks-inspired, I’m just in heaven.
Even people with no experience when it comes to design can identify when colors work. And nature’s colors just work. And what a blessing it is that we don’t have to look far to better understand how these things best complement each other.
I am no color expert and color theory is not something I’ve spent that much time working with. But even just playing around with putting different shades next to each other can teach you things.
If you’re looking for ways to experiment with color palettes, either for photos like these or your own personal fun, check out Adobe Color CC, formerly known as kuler. If you login with your Adobe account, or create one, you can upload pictures and save any palettes you create, both to be shared with other people or kept private.
